Apis Restaurant and Apiary opens Friday evening at 23526 Texas 71 W. in Spicewood. The restaurant from chef Taylor Hall is located on six acres overlooking the Pedernales River. The menu from the native Texan, whose career includes time at Brennan’s in New Orelans and Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio, includes small plates like foie gras terrine and hamachi crudo, and entrees like Scottish salmon and a duck duo. The bar menu includes egg toast, roast chicken gnocchi, and a Wagy burger. Apis is initially open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with plans to expand service in the coming months.
