Emmett and Lisa Fox will close their Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Fino at the end of March. The culinary couple, who also own Asti in Hyde Park, opened the restaurant in 2005. The restaurant has proven a training ground for a number of Austin cooks and mixologists.

“It’s been very heartwarming the outreach of love from past employees and customers and friends of Fino,” Lisa Fox said in an email.

The Foxes plan to open Cantine, an Italian-inspired restaurant serving a large selection of antipasti, pasta, pizza, and grilled meats, in the Lamar Union mixed-use development at 1120 S. Lamar Blvd. in April.

In other Fox-related news, Asti recently hired Jeanise de Leon to take the place of recently departed chef Jacob Weaver, who has moved on to help open Italian restaurant Juliet on Barton Springs Road.
