One of Austin’s oldest institutions is looking for a new lessee. Scholz Garten, originally opened in 1867 and under the stewardship of the Austin Saengerrunde since 1908, is accepting proposals for a new food and beverage operator, a role Green Mesquite has held since 1996. The new tenant will be in charge of full operations of bar, restaurant, and garten (food and beer), and possibly liquor in the future, according to the Saengerrunde. The lease at one of the oldest beer gardens in the country is set to begin in spring of 2016. Interested parties should contact Reagan Roland at reagan@saengerrunde.org before March 1.
