The third annual Austin Oyster Festival takes place February 28 at Carson Creek Ranch in East Austin. The event, helmed by Eddie V’s executive chef Chris Bauer, will feature raw, grilled, roasted and fried oysters, and other seafood items like shrimp po’boys, along with wine, beer and spirits. Tickets cost $45 for general admission (includes five food-beverage vouchers, additional vouchers available $5 each) and $70 for VIP (includes preferred parking, five food-beverage vouchers and private oyster tasting with drink pairing from chef Shane Stark of the forthcoming Mongers Market & Kitchen). Proceeds benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. The Prime Time Ramblers, Gumbo Ce Soir and Bottom Dollar String Band will perform live, and there will be lawn games and a raffle benefiting HOPE Farmers Market with items like VIP passes to the Reckless Kelly celebrity softball jam.
