Chalk Lulu B’s up as another Austin trailer success story. The Vietnamese trailer, which made a name for itself on South Lamar Boulevard serving tasty banh mi sandwiches, has opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 3632 S. Congress Ave. The restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lulu B’s is serving the same menu as the popular food truck that opened in 2008, along with nightly dinner specials. Located in the former Flaco’s Tacos, Lulu B’s is currently BYOB, and owners are quick to point out that the neighboring Major Brand gas station and convenience store sells an excellent variety of beers. The original trailer is no longer in business.
