No stranger to long lines for food, the folks in the Bay Area are about to get a taste of Austin. Pit master extraordinaire Aaron Franklin will host a barbecue pop-up at Smokestack and Magnolia Brewery on May 9 and May 10. Tickets carrying a $130 price tag go on sale online Friday at 11 a.m., with a limit of two per person. The tickets will get you a plate of barbecue, two beers, dessert and a copy of Franklin’s new book, co-authored by San Franciscan Jordan Mackay, who will also be on hand with Franklin.

Franklin is on a hot streak. He just released a book, “Franklin Barbecue: A Meat Smoking Manifesto,” that landed on the New York Times best-seller list and will appear on a new show “BBQ with Franklin” on PBS beginning in May.
