People paying others to stand in line at Franklin Barbecue is not a new phenomenon, but with the viral buzz that a 13-year old local boy named Desmond received last week, the chatter has started anew.

It seems proprietor Aaron Franklin was aware of the renewed attention to line standers. The restaurant took to its Twitter account over the weekend to explain their line-standing policy.

“Our policy for peeps who pay a line waiter – we don’t allow 1 person to hold place for a group eating here.  1 person paid = 1 to-go order,” the restaurant Tweeted.

In following up on their one-for-one policy, Franklin Barbecue clarified that anyone who violated the policy would be banned (and @-replied a few popular line standers, including Desmond).
