Austin restaurateur Larry McGuire hasn’t opened a new restaurant in a few years. That won’t be the case for much longer, according to a story by Statesman business writer Gary Dinges.

Dinges reports that McGuire Moorman Hospitality will be in charge of the dining options at the forthcoming Austin Proper, a 32-story tower that will feature 100 luxury residences atop a 243-room hotel. The development will be located at 2nd and Nueces streets on the plot of the old Green Water Treatment Plant site just east of the Seaholm development. McGuire says he envisions a restaurant, lobby bar, and coffee shop at the Proper.

“That whole quadrant that’s coming in – the expansion of the Second Street District – is just amazing,” McGuire said.
