East Austin veggie-forward restaurant Gardner (1914 E. Sixth St.) welcomes chef Matt McCallister of FT33 in Dallas as part of its Guest Chef Series tonight. McCallister’s restaurant served me one of the best meals I’ve eaten this year in Texas, so I am curious to see what the chef the Dallas Morning News named the Chef of the Year in 2013 has in store for Austin. The dinner will be a collaboration between McCallister and Gardner executive chef Andrew Wiseheart and feature six courses, along with an opening reception.
