Voodoo Doughnuts now open in downtown Austin

Update: A rep for Voodoo said the shop is only selling doughnuts “here and there” over the coming weeks to test their operations and train employees ahead of their grand opening on Halloween weekend. The rep said customers could follow the selling times on Voodoo’s Facebook page. We have asked for a clarification on those times

Portland doughnut maestros Voodoo Doughnuts, the Franklin Barbecue of rounded and holed parties (at least in terms of drawing long lines and national attention) is now open at 212 E. Sixth St. The store said via Twitter that it served its first Texas doughnut last night. It appears the store for now will be open from 8 p.m. until sold-out. Expect expanded hours soon. We have an email out to Voodoo reps.
