The Austin Film Festival officially kicks off with Austinite Jeff Nichols’ historical drama “Loving” on Thursday night, but before the films roll, AFF rolls out the red carpet for a host of restaurants serving up small plates and bites at the 14th annual Film & Food event at the Driskill Hotel. The evening benefits the group’s Young Filmmakers program and will feature food from the Bonnneville, Juliet Ristorante, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Ranch 616, Searsucker, Whole Foods Market and more.

The evening, which also features live and silent auctions with goodies from Adelbert’s Brewery, Ballet Austin, Eliza Page, Pedernales Brewing Company, the Blanton Museum, William Chris Vineyards, Yeti Coolers and many more, will be hosted by “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator Phil Rosenthal, who won a James Beard Award this year for his PBS travel-dining show, “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having.”

Tickets for the general public are $100 in advance ($125 at the door) and $85 for AFF members.
