More than 30 food trucks will descend on the Austin American-Statesman parking lot Saturday for an all-day festival and competition. And, you get to be the judge. The first 1,000 attendees who sign up (now $30 to attend) for Trucklandia will dine at food trucks and cast votes for their favorite. The winner gets a $10,000 cash prize. Once those 1,000 tickets are sold, general admission tickets ($5.95) will get you onto the grounds to do some purchasing of your own and give you the chance to cast your vote for the People’s Choice winner. The festival runs at the Statesman lot (305 S. Congress Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kids 12 and under get in free and kid judges pay $9.95 for their sampling/judging wristbands.

What trucks can you expect? African cuisine from Cazamance, bacon-wrapped dogs from T-Loc’s Sonora Hot Dogs, Southeast Asian fare from Thai How Are You? and much more.

Purchase tickets and get more information at Trucklandia.com.

(Full disclosure: I had no hand in choosing contestants or judges, and no entry fee money goes to me.)
