The team behind J. Black’s Feel Good Kitchen & Lounge is bringing its brand of hospitality to South Lamar. The Manera Restaurant Group is planning to open TLC in the spring catty-corner from the Alamo South Lamar in the Lamar Union development.

TLC will mine nostalgia with comfort food, community tables, a front porch and games for big and little kids. The menu is slated to include fried oysters, Sloppy Joe’s and “everything in between” (except small plates), according to a representative for the group. As for the name, don’t go chasing interpretations … while the initials would seem to represent the acronym “Tender Loving Care,” the rep says the name is open for interpretation.

As they ready for the opening of their new restaurant, Manera will close the Houston iteration of J. Black’s on February 11. The Space City outpost has been open for more than four years.
