Talk to any food lover in Austin and near the top of their list of wishes for Austin cuisine: more bagels. Chef Alex Manley, formerly of Bufalina and the McGuire Moorman Hospitality restaurants, is granting those wishes at Olamaie.
The refined Southern restaurant will host Manley for a bagel pop-up on January 22. Manley, current MMH executive pastry chef Jennifer Tucker and Olamaie staff will be making fresh bagels, and they have a secret weapon: smoked fish from Aaron Franklin. The barbecue wizard says he is tinkering with three variations. Olamaie will serve complimentary punch to go with the bagels and smoked fish.
The pop-up runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the restaurant located at 1610 San Antonio St.
