East Austin cocktail bar and brunch spot Weather Up will mark the Presidents Day holiday by hosting a night of food, drink, dancing and more on February 19, with 100 percent of ticket sales and auction items going to Planned Parenthood.
The ticket price of $60 includes cocktails, food and a reading of “A Love Letter to Texas Women” by Austin author Sarah Bird. Custom stitching company Fort Lonesome and the vintage photography of Lumiere Tintype will offer their services by donation. There will also be a whiskey tasting offered by donation. Chef Kristine Kittrell’s food menu includes meat and cheese and charcuterie; steak tartare; housemade potato chips with pimento cheese; seasonal crudités with rosemary almond bagna cauda; crab cakes with tobiko caviar; and sweets from chef Alex Manley.
The silent auction will include stays at the Hotel San Jose, South Congress Hotel, pilates and personal training sessions, gift cards to Olamaie and Franklin Barbecue, pottery from Keith Kreeger and much more.
“This is just the beginning,” WeatherUp writes on the post for its party. “We stand proud as both Americans Citizens and Immigrants and will fight for the freedom and civil liberties of all regardless of race, sex, religion or gender.”
